December 2016 we met each other. March 2017 we brought it home. May 1st, 2018 we started living, working and homeschooling in here.<\/p>\n

January 2019<\/h2>\n

IVECO in association with IVECO Greece Paul J. Condellis S.A. are official partners of The World Offroad.\u00a0<\/span>The expedition VM90 stayed for two weeks in the IVECO Paul J. Condellis S.A. workshop in Athens and went through a substantial periodical service which included precautionary replacement of various IVECO Genuine Parts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story of a family who decided to put their whole life in a 4X4 IVECO, live, work and school their child inside while attempting an epic adventure around the world is an inspiration for everybody\u00bb,<\/em> says Tatiana Benova Markova from CNH International. \u00ab The VM90 used in this expedition is a military vehicle and out of production for a long time. May 2018<\/h2>\n

After a winter break in Tanzania, we pack our home back to Greece and on May 1st start living in our Iveco. Initially around Reggio Emilia and Scandiano, where Anastasia attends kindergarten and Akis is busy working. Most days we camp downtown Scandiano, where people and local police welcome us very friendly. After the frst week, we feel at home, we know where to find water and evacuate WC waters, where to wash our clothes and refill cooking gas. We feel great on the road, even if still at home”. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Summer 2017<\/h2>\n

We take our first trip with the Iveco: 5.000 kms from Italy to Greece and back via Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. We test thorouglhy cruise speed (max 80 km\/h), consumption (around 13 lt\/100 km), driving fatique, engine power and our comfort at temperatures soaring up to 40 degrees in Greece). We break our daily driving record, covering 700 kms – in 14 hours of driving – from Montenegro to Rijeka, Croatia!<\/p>\n

March 2017<\/h2>\n

The Iveco owner, Italian Angelo Gorghetto proposes to transfer the car even before we can pay him the whole amount of money. As a warrantee we give him our legendary Land Rover and we proceed to the formal acquisition of the vehicle. March 15th, 2017 we drive the car from Veneto to Scandiano and bring it home. Our first weekend trip is at nearby Sassi dei Sassi di Roccamalatina. For the following three months we spend almost each weekend on the road: from Bismantova to Carpinetti, from Parma to Rimini and from Monza to Mugello, following Italian Porsche Carrera Cup races.\u00a0<\/p>\n

December 2016<\/h2>\n

We travel to Mira, a small town southwest of Venice, to look for an Iveco camper we found online. It’s expensive for our budget so we explain Mr. Gorghetto, the owner, that we just need to take a look at it, given we intend to build one. As soon as we meet the guy and see his vehicle we say: “this was made for us”. It is brand new inside-out and perfectly maintained: “I adore what you are doing, ragazzi”, Angelo says, “and I want people like you to buy this. Don’t bother about the money, we can find a way”. We gave him 1000 euros the same day and – YES – we booked the vehicle!<\/p>\n

October 2013<\/h2>\n

The first owners of the vehicle after a few travels in Italy and northern Africa, decide to change it with a brand new Iveco Daily 4×4 because the VM90 is proved very slow for long distances. The Iveco is on sale without its camper capsule that fits a new Iveco as well. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Works continue on interior detailing. The standard VM90 dashboard was replaced by a handmade wooden one, sleek and sturdy enough to accommodate the expedition vehicle’s equipment (terratrip, VHF, GPS etc). Later on the dashboard was covered by a carbon-look autoadesive.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The camper capsule was prepared and the team started working on interiors.<\/p>\n

The body painting was complete. A yellow “Sahara” matte colour was chosen by the new owners, which altered completely the personality of the Iveco from a military to an expedition vehicle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A brand new Sofim 8140.43, 2.8 litre turbodiesel engine arrived at the workshop and was installed on the vehicle. The VM90 owners chose wisely the specific engine as it is the ultimate Iveco block with analog tecnhnology and no electronics at all.\u00a0<\/p>\n

February 2010<\/h2>\n

A couple from Venice, Italy, bought a used Iveco VM90 from the Italian Marines and started builiding it. As you can see on the photos, they stripped, sanded and painted the rugged chassis like new.\u00a0<\/p>\n
