We are happy to inform you that Thales Group<\/a> has provided us with a MissionLink Satcom system.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This compact and user-friendly device uses Iridium Certus broadband services over a network of 66 satellites that cover 100% of the globe. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is a state-of-the art satcom solution since it became operational in January 2019. Our sponsor \u00a0has arranged a standard plan of 30-300 Mb per month, which means that we will use the system for the most important tasks of our expedition – mostly for uploading travel material from remote areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

From the first time we used the landline phone provided, we understood how reliable it is talking to landline or mobile phone numbers wherever in the world. Internet connection is surprisingly fast and reliable as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After the basic setup by Navarino technical department we can connect in our vehicle via ethernet cable or wi-fi from our laptops or mobile phones. <\/span><\/p>\n

Given the considerable costs per Mb, we will use the connection strictly to upload our latest news and photos from the remotest places on earth. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
