
Before you visit the Galapagos…
It’s important to be well-prepared before visiting the archipelago and to be aware that certain activities are strictly prohibited. This is a fragile ecosystem, protected as a National Park and recognized as a World Heritage site by nature.
- No Wild Camping
Free camping is strictly prohibited in the wilderness. - Guided Tours Only
Tours and dives must be conducted with authorized guides. - Respect Wildlife Distance
Keep a minimum distance of two meters (six feet) from mammals and birds. - No Smoking or Open Flames
Smoking, alcohol consumption, and lighting fires are forbidden in the national park. - Hands Off Nature
Do not touch plants, feed animals, or take anything from the natural environment. - Stay on Marked Paths
Walking is permitted only on designated trails. - No Foreign Items Allowed
Pets, food, plants, or other foreign materials are not allowed in the national park. - Limit Photography
Flash photography and drone use are effectively banned. - No Motorized Water Sports
All motorized water activities are strictly prohibited. - Take Trash Back
Waste, plastics, and other disposables must be returned to towns for sorting and recycling.
